DIY Halloween Nail Art Inspiration to Impress Your Friends

Nail art is my all time favorite hobby. Halloween nail art is some of my favorite to do because there are so many different themes you can go with: ghosts, spiders, monsters, zombies, vampires, haunted houses, black cats, witches, and sooooooo many more! Here’s a round up of some of my manicures for this spooky season. If you like what you see, you can find the details of the nail polishes, stamping plates, etc on my Instagram. Skulls with a playful twist

Here I did a manicure for a nail prompt challenge. I wanted to take something that was typically seen as scary and morbid and make it happy. So I took some pastels paired with black and shimmery pearl to give it contrast in all the right places. This was one of my sets that I did that really felt like a stretch and a challenge at the time so I still am proud of it today.

Vintage Halloween

Overtime I have definitely honed my craft and my current work is probably cleaner but I am still inspired looking back at what I have created. This one was fun to work on because I used a layered nail stamping technique that was new to me. If you are new to nail stamping check out some how to nail stamp videos. But warning it may become your next favorite hobby! It can be a little addicting. This manicure uses nail plates from www.maniology.com. If you use my code, PAULAGLAM there you can get 10% off your purchase. A few exclusions exist but it covers most of the site.

Creepy clowns and the Raven

Here I took some inspiration from IT as I had lots of nail plates with clown images. I once saw IT when I was a kid. Not sure how old but I remember it being REALLY creepy. I watched all the Freddy Kruger’s as a kid but those (to me) where like cartoons compared to IT. I swear clowns are just a little creepy even when there innocent.

Frankenstein and voodoo vibes

On my other hand I couldn’t help but to do a Frankenstein Halloween manicure with the bright “It’s Alive” green. That’s not it’s real name for the nail polish but it’s what I call it when I look at this manicure! In this case I paired the almost neon green with a confetti-like dot topper. It was so much fun!

Halloween ghost decals

This manicure features the 2021 China Glaze Halloween collection’s Purpletonium nail polish which is such a fabulous vibrant color. Since this mani used nail decals that I found randomly at a CVS my daughter got to help…hence the upside down haunted house. I don’t typically love decals because they can be hard to work with to lay flat on the nail but the images were so cure and glowed in the dark, plus my daughter could help so it was a WIN!

Cute ghosts with puns and color-shifting nail polish

This was one of my favorite Halloween manicure because I can’t get enough of this color shifting lilac-gray-green metallic nail polish. This polish also came from the China Glaze Halloween collection from 2021 and is called Holee Shift!

Cute and simple Halloween nail stamping

Here we have an apricot orange nail polish with some simple black nail stamping. I loved the mummy image. A simple Happy Halloween mani!

Halloween bats with night sky glitters

This manicure used one of my favorite glitter polishes. I just love this starry sky, black crème base with blue glitter polish. Bats seemed like and obvious choice to compliment the night’s sky inspired nail polish. I used a silver stamping polish to stand out amongst the busier but beautiful background.
